Ingredients

  • 1 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 Large FARMHOUSE EGGS®
  • 3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup milk
  • Red, White, and Blue Sprinkles
  • Frosting

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line a muffin pan with cupcake liners.
  2. Sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cocoa and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  5. Add the flour mixture to the large bowl, beating until combined well. Pour in the milk and beat well.
  6. Pour batter into cupcake liners, filling them 3/4 of the way up.
  7. Bake 15-18 minutes or until toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Wait until cupcakes are cooled completely, then frost and add sprinkles.
